The Different Types of Chinese Heels
There are many different types of Chinese heels. Some of the most popular include the stiletto, the pump, and the platform. Each type has its own unique benefits. The stiletto is the most popular type of heel, and it is known for its long, thin, and sharp look. The stiletto is also the most dangerous type of heel, and it can be very difficult to walk in. The pump is a more traditional type of heel, and it is shorter and thicker than the stiletto. The pump is also much easier to walk in, and it is the most popular type of heel for Chinese women. The platform is the tallest type of heel, and it is very difficult to walk in. However, the platform provides a very elegant look, and it is the most popular type of heel for Chinese women.
The stiletto
The stiletto is the most popular type of Chinese heel. It is a long, thin heel that comes to a sharp point at the bottom. Stilettos can be any height, but they are usually quite tall – sometimes as tall as 10cm or more. They are very difficult to walk in and are not suitable for everyday wear. Instead, they are usually only worn for special occasions, such as weddings or parties.
The kitten heel
The kitten heel is a type of shoe with a very short, slim heel. It is named after its similarity to the hind legs and paws of a kitten. The kitten heel is usually between two and two and a half inches in height (approximately 5-6 cm), although some styles may be as short as one inch (2.5 cm).
The kitten heel was popularised in the 1950s by Audrey Hepburn, who often wore them with capri pants or skirts. Today, they are commonly worn by women of all ages and are seen as a more comfortable alternative to stiletto heels. They are also popular in the summer months due to their dressiness and comfort.
The block heel
The block heel is the most common type of heel found on Chinese shoes. It is a low, wide heel that provides good stability and is easy to walk in. This type of heel is often used for everyday wear, as it is comfortable and practical.
How to Get Your Feet Into Small Heels
If you have ever seen a Chinese woman walk, you may have noticed that their feet seem to be bound in a very small heel. Many women in China have their feet bound in order to make them look smaller and more delicate. While this practice may seem strange to some, it is actually a very old tradition that is still practiced by many women today.
The right size
It’s no secret that Chinese women have some of the smallest feet in the world, but what’s the secret to getting your feet into those seemingly impossible to wear heels? The answer, it turns out, is all in the size.
In China, women’s shoes are sized according to the length and width of their foot, rather than just the length. This means that if you have wide feet, you will need to buy a size that is larger than your normal shoe size.
The next thing to keep in mind is that Chinese women generally have narrower heels than Western women. This means that you will need to buy a size that is narrower than your normal heel width.
Finally, keep in mind that Chinese women tend to wear their shoes slightly tighter than Western women. This means that you may need to buy a size that is one or two sizes smaller than your normal shoe size.
If you follow these tips, you should be able to find a pair of small heels that fit your feet perfectly!
The right shape
Before you start, make sure your toenails are trimmed and filed into the right shape. If they’re too long, they’ll make it very difficult to get your foot into the heel. It’s also important to make sure your toenails are not too short. If they are, they could potentially tear the fabric of the shoe or hurt your foot when you walk.
Next, use a pumice stone or foot file to buff away any roughness on the bottoms or sides of your feet. This will help the fabric of the shoe glide on more easily.
If you have any corns or calluses, now is also a good time to take care of those. Soak your feet in warm water for a few minutes to soften them up, then use a corn/callus remover tool or pumice stone to gently rub away the dead skin.
The right style
Ultra-thin soles are not going to offer much support or shock absorption, no matter how small the heel. A stiletto may look amazing, but it’s not going to be comfortable to walk in if the rest of the shoe is flimsy. In general, the smaller the heel, the more supportive the shoe should be. A single-sole pump with a thick heel will be more comfortable than a dainty sandal with a skinny heel.
Another factor to consider is the toe box. If your toes are crammed into a tiny space, they’re going to hurt—no matter how small the heel is. The best way to avoid this problem is to make sure your shoes have a wide toe box. You should be able to wiggle your toes comfortably without feeling like they’re being squished.
How to Walk in Small Heels
No matter what anyone tells you, walking in heels is not easy. It takes practice, patience, and a whole lot of determination. Trust me, I know from experience. I’m Chinese, and like many other Chinese women, I grew up wearing heels. Heels are a big part of our culture, and they’re worn for all occasions, whether it’s a wedding, a funeral, or just a day at the office.
The heel-to-toe walk
One of the best ways to keep your balance and avoid pain in your feet, ankles, and legs when wearing small heels is to practice a heel-to-toe walk. This may sound silly, but it’s actually a great way to avoid injury.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Start by standing on a flat surface in your shoes.
2. Slowly lift your heels until you are standing on your toes.
3. Take a step forward with your left foot, keeping your heel lifted as you transfer your weight onto your toe.
4. As you take the step, bring your right foot forward so that it’s heel is lifted and you are back on your toes.
5. Repeat this process until you reach your destination.
The rolling walk
One way to help ease your way into wearing small heels is to use what’s known as the rolling walk. This technique will help you get used to the feel of wearing heels and also help build up the muscles in your feet and calves so that they can better support you.
To do the rolling walk, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your weight evenly balanced. Then, take a small step forward with your right foot and roll onto the ball of your foot. As you transfer your weight forward, shift your left foot behind you so that you’re standing on the toes of both feet. Continue rolling forward until your left heel comes off the ground, then slowly lower it back down. Repeat this process 10 times on each foot.
The walking lunge
Before you even think about putting on a pair of heels, it’s important to strengthen your foot and calf muscles. Do toe raises by placing your heel on an elevated surface and raising your toes as high as you can. For an extra challenge, try doing single-leg raises with one heel on the ground and the other foot raised in the air.
Walking lunges are also key to helping you walk properly in heels. Start in a standing position with your feet shoulder-width apart. Take a big step forward with your right foot and lower your body until your right thigh is parallel to the ground. Then, bring your left leg forward so that your left thigh is also parallel to the ground. Repeat this move for 30 seconds, and then switch sides.
